I always laugh that a brand new Windows OS release is immediately followed by a service pack release. If I wasn't so stingy my next laptop would be a MacBook :)

Hi Adam,

I haven't connected a camera to a computer for yonks - if I need to firmware upgrade a camera, once in a blue moon, maybe I will but for activities, I use a card reader.

On the other hand, Microsoft gives "Windows XP Mode" which is actually free Windows XP runnable in a virtual machine. I can't use Microsoft's virtualisation because my hardware does not support that but there is free VMWare Player - once you install that "Windows XP Mode", you install VMWare Player, it recognises it, and you can get it to create a virtual machine, able to see USB ports etc... Software that is not Windows 7 compatible (and will never be) can be run inside VMWare Player.
