Request 3 day’s leave, get 10 days off work

An opportunity will arise for full- and part-time workers in most part of Australia to request three day’s recreational leave from their employer but receive ten continuous paid days off work.

The “ten for the price of three” situation is made possible by the proximity of Easter to Anzac Day this year. By requesting leave from their employer for the period between Tuesday 22 April 2014 through to Thursday 24 April 2014 inclusive, employees can enjoy ten continuous day’s rest:

  1. Friday 18 April 2014: Good Friday
  2. Saturday 19 April 2014: Weekend
  3. Sunday 20 April 2014: Weekend
  4. Monday 21 April 2014: Easter Monday
  5. Tuesday 22 April 2014: (Recreational Leave)*
  6. Wednesday 23 April 2014: (Recreational Leave)
  7. Thursday 24 April 2014: (Recreational Leave)
  8. Friday 25 April 2014: Anzac Day
  9. Saturday 26 April 2014: Weekend
  10. Sunday 27 April 2014: Weekend

Not all employees will have the flexibility to arrange such a period off work, but for those of you who do, it’s worth asking your employer.

This Autumn, go somewhere that you’d rather be!

*Note: For public servants and some private-sector employees in Tasmania, Tuesday 22 April 2014 is also a public holiday so affected employees need only arrange two day’s leave.
